Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistent welding performance
Accurate welding output is critical for weld quality, safety, and compliance. Our calibration and validation services ensure your welding equipment delivers reliable voltage and current output, helping you maintain consistent results across every job.
We support workshops and industrial facilities that require documented performance checks as part of their quality, safety, or compliance processes.
SMP Calibrator unit
600 or 1000

The SMP Calibrator is an all-in-one system for calibrating and validating arc welding power sources and related equipment. It complies with IEC 60974-14, ISO 9000, and EN 1090 standards.
It features a resistive load system (1–600A, up to 1000A optional, and up to 100V AC/DC) with precise resolution, ensuring stable and accurate readings. It includes fixed and variable load options, plus a wire feed tachometer measuring up to 50 m/min.
Calibrated using certified Fluke equipment, the unit comes with cables for most welding machines and supports 110V and 230V power supplies.
Accompanying software simplifies data recording, calculations, and report generation, saving significant time.
Manufactured since 1992 (over 1000 units sold), it is widely used across industries and by major companies and welding equipment manufacturers, making it a recognized industry standard.
SMP Compact 600 Calibration unit

Light and portable for the hard to get to jobs in the field. Robust and built to last.
Incorporating the accurate and stable, tried and tested loading and metering system of the SMP Calibrator in a handy portable size- 40 x 45 x 45 cm and weight – 16 Kgs, battery powered so no mains supply required, also runs from welder OCV.

Machine Compliance
Test Unit
IEC 60974-4 Periodic Inspection and Test of Arc Welding Equipment – M.C.T. Unit.

The unit is a comprehensive solution combining proven hardware with user-friendly software that guides engineers through the testing process, ensuring compliance with the IEC 60974-4 Periodic Inspection and Test standard. This standard is widely recognised by engineers and is required following any repair that restores welding or cutting functionality.
As some engineers already own a calibrated insulation tester, the kit is available with or without a Megger test meter. The test box accommodates meters in three compartment sizes: 105 × 260 mm, 145 × 260 mm, and 180 × 260 mm.
For those without an insulation tester, a complete package is available.
We supply only high-quality test meters, as reliability and accuracy are essential for this type of safety testing.

Calimeter 602
Instant calibration status on any DC MMA/Mig power source in complience with IEC 60794-14

The Calimeter 602 gives an instant calibration status on any DC MMA/Mig power source in complience with IEC 60794-14 (calibration of welding equipment) and ISO 9000 (quality systems) suitable for any MMA or Mig upto 600 amps making it ideal for use on most power sources in the field.
The units are arc voltage powered and can be fitted and running in minutes. Both come calibrated for 1 year, calibrations after that period can be carried out very easily due to the adjustor access holes in the front panel. Accuracy of the meters is typically better than 1%, lengthy calibration/validation procedures will be a thing of the past. The zinc plated steel cabinet is robustly constructed to withstand the toughest on-site and in-house conditions.
These units are designed to give many years service.
Calimeter 602 - Plant version
Dimensions:
Width : 250mm
Height : 150mm
Depth : 75mm
Weight : 2.4kg
The meter unit is specifically designed to be easily fixed to a separate power source using the mounting holes.
Calimeter 602 - Portable version
Dimensions:
Width : 170mm
Height : 105mm
Depth : 155mm
Weight : 2.3kg
The meter can be positioned adjacent to the operator, particularly useful when the operator is working a long way from a power source or simply placed on top of your welder. This version is more suited for compact welders.

Why Calibration Matters
Incorrect or drifting output values can result in:
-
Inconsistent weld quality
-
Increased rework and scrap
-
Potential safety risks
-
Non-compliance with internal quality systems
Regular calibration helps ensure your welding equipment performs exactly as intended.
